"Dear Steam Tube Member

Its been a while since I sent you all a message and as we now have a new site sponsor I thought that a good reason to break that"duck". 

Let me tell you a little about them. Peters Railway brings intriguing and engaging stories about Peter and his Grandpa building and operating a miniature steam railway on a farm. The books are written by Christopher Vine, an engineer who loves railways and anything mechanical or electrical. They are his way of passing on his passion for engineering to todays children.There are hardback books, paperbacks an Activity book, and the website. Between them they cover a huge range of stories, but more importantly, engineering and science!

I love the fact that the books bring an element of the real steam engine into childrens lives. The UK has a proud history of keeping Steam alive and Peters Railway brings that to new generation. Having recently bumped into a childrens event on the Severn Valley Railway, I know how important the children are in our current steam railway scene

A New Arrival at Peters Railway!

We are delighted to announce that there is a new Peters Railway book on its way - it went to the printer today!  It should be with us by the middle of July...

Holiday at Lunan Bay is the latest paperback in the series.  It has the same small format as the previous books, but with more pages and more adventure..  This book follows Peter and Grandpa on their summer holiday.  At just £4.99 this is a great holiday read, perfect for the car, on the plane, train, beach or relaxing at home.

Bicentennial of the locomotive Blucher.  Chris feels rather honoured to have been invited to display Bongo/Fiery Fox in the home of the steam locomotive!

40th Anniversary Steam Gala
Buckinghamshire Railway Centre  31st August
One day only : Full size and Model Engineering Exhibition.
Severn Valley Railway Autumn Steam Gala  19th, 20th & 21st September
Lots going on this weekend on the railway and the Young Engineers’ Centre will still be open so if you missed the opening in May, come along and see Chris and Bongo at this great event.
