The banner really says it all... "Books for children who love trains and engineering"... and to the end of encouraging an engineering career and  training, Chris has teamed up with the Severn Valley Railway opening "Peter’s Railway Young Engineer’s Centre at Highley on the Severn Valley Railway". It will be open during the summer, so why not try to get along there.

Peters Railway 2014 Summer Timetable Chris has a busy timetable this summer, there’s so much going on we thought we would share it with you and hope to see you at a railway this summer of steam! NEW Joint Venture at the Severn Valley Railway! Severn Valley Railway  24th, 25th & 26th May On the 24th, 25th & 26th May Peter’s Railway Young Engineer’s Centre at the Severn Valley Railway opened! Why not visit the brand new Young Engineer’s Centre at The Engine House – Highley, to find out more about railway engineering and learn how steam locomotives work. This new permanent display features interactive exhibits and visuals from the books. The Young Engineer’s Centre is a must for any young steam fans and budding engineers. Exhibits include a piston from full sized locomotive BR Class 4 no. 75069 and point rod, coil spring and pressure gauge demos. These photos give an idea of what you will see when visiting the Young Engineers Centre... Future Events: Perrygrove Railway  28th, 29th June Charity 24 hour steam train drive! Talyllyn Railway Garden Railway Weekend  5th & 6th July Come and join Chris and Bongo for this fun Garden Railway weekend and find out more about Peter and Grandpa’s garden railway.  Ride on the Talyllyn too! Stephenson Museum Newcastle 21st & 22nd July Bicentennial of the locomotive Blusher.  Chris feels rather honoured to have been invited to display Bongo/Fiery Fox in the home of the steam locomotive! Ayshire Railway Preservation Society at Dalmellington  3rd August 40th Anniversary Steam Gala Buckinghamshire Railway Centre  31st August One day only : Full size and Model Engineering Exhibition. Severn Valley Railway Autumn Steam Gala  19th, 20th & 21st September Lots going on this weekend on the railway and the Young Engineers’ Centre will still be open so if you missed the opening in May, come along and see Chris and Bongo at this great event. Don’t miss the opportunity of riding on a steam train at night, its fab!!... North York Moors Railway Autumn Steam Gala  26th, 27th & 28th September Peter’s Railway will be on the platform at Pickering at the NYMR. Warley National Model Railway Exhibition NEC Birmingham  22nd & 23rd November A great day out for all the family come, join in the fun. A delayed arrival at Yewston Station - Holiday at Lunan Bay In addition to all this activity, Chris has found time to write a new book, even if it is running a bit late!!  We are delighted to announce the summer publication of the latest book in the paperback series, “Holiday at Lunan Bay”.   This will be available to pre-order from our website shortly. Chris has just seen some of the pictures in John Wardle’s studio, and they are looking sensational!!...   Running every day of the summer until the end of September, this round Britain quiz is a great family fun adventure, with some 40 participating heritage railways and museums. So, a warm welcome to this June edition of "On Shed".. the monthly magazine of "Steam Tube - The Home of Steam on the Net!"
An especial welcome to the 4 new members who signed on in May, bringing our total membership to 1,441.
Steam Tube is a free to join site, and is enjoyed by many as a resource to keep updated on all things (well, nearly all things!!) steam. So  we are grateful when the odd fiver or tenner is donated via the Donate button on the Home page. Thank you in advance for your appreciative support.


This months edition comes with all the usual features....and you will especially notice the progress reports on US steam projects....UP4014 Big Boy is now back in Cheyenne....the PRR T1 project moves forward...and B & O Railroad Museum have just said good-bye to their C & O Class H6 2-6-6-2 No 1309, which will be returned to  use on the  Western Maryland Scenic Railroad (WMSR)


In the UK, updates on the Hengist project (including a Just Trains simulation!), the P2 Prince of Wales project, and  LMS Patriot project.
