Welcome, and site news.

A warm welcome to this months edition of "On Shed", the monthly e-zine of "Steam Tube- The Home of Steam on the Net."

As always, may we express appreciation for the excellent uploads of videos and photographs. And the blogs of members (such as those of David Suter) widen our understanding of steam operations and preservation around the world.

John Rimmasch of Wasatch Railroad Contractors enthuses over the various ongoing projects he is involved in , and is especially excited by a project involving the Smithsonian Institution. Watch one of the 4 short films WRC uploaded.

Mainline steam has been well covered and filmed, as also heritage events. As an example, Kenneth F Baker (and Penny) has uploaded several films for our enjoyment.

Steam Tube is keen to "give something back" to the steam preservation movement..and it is to be hoped that the expense many members go to in filming mainline steam and heritage events has the indirect benefit of drawing paying customers to these events.
But we would like to think that we can offer something in the way of direct support through the collective efforts of our 1,404 international members. What suggestions would you have for us to be able to do this? Please feel free to share your thoughts with us...
