Next up is one of the larger buildings from the 4Ground 15mm Europe at War range - the Grand Stone Hotel.  Once again in pre-painted laser cut MDF and very easy to assemble:

I believe there is a separate kit to enable you to add a further floor if you want more height.

I just finished assembling the 4Ground 15mm stone wall set to add to my collection.  As you might expect these are pre-painted laser cut MDF.

You get twenty 60mm long sections (4 damaged, 2 each with a large and a small gate, and 12 undamaged) and twelve 30mm long sections (4 damaged and 8 undamaged).

They fit well with the other buildings I have and scale fine with 15mm figures (in this case Peter Pig WW2 British):

I met up with a few old friends yesterday for a 15mm game set in the Polish Soviet War of 1919-21.  The rules were a home brew set using a variety of mechanisms from other rule sets for other periods.  I was on the Polish side and our objective was to capture two of the towns on the table but one had to be the town on the far edge.  Unfortunately we had no idea where the Soviets were and our plan ran into instant problems once we had seen their deployment (as they had almost all their full Division concentrated in the town we were intending assault first).  I was in command of the Polish 6th Regiment which took a bit of a pasting trying to push round the town whilst the 5th Regiment assaulted it.  Meanwhile our mobile column of cavalry, motorised infantry and armoured cars easily captured the other one by the railway line and then faced the might of the Soviet cavalry.

The game was a lot of fun with the almost compulsory inclusion of weird armoured cars, ineffective air support and an armoured train; but ended as a Soviet victory as we couldnt break into the first town and were about to be assaulted by the Soviets second full Division!

It was a pretty exhausting day with a 340 mile round trip in the car and 7 full hours of gaming but well worth it.  Here are some photos from the day:

I assembled another of my Broadside purchases this morning.  This time it was the 4Ground pre-painted 15mm Timber Framed Cottage from their Renaissance & ECW range. I bought the kit as an experiment as I am thinking of using it for my WSS games and also for additional terrain for Operation Sealion games to make the other buildings a little more like Blighty.

As with the other 4Ground buildings it was very easy to put together.  Here are some photos:

As you can see it is somewhat smaller than the Europe at War series but thats exactly what I wanted for WSS and the kit is only £8.
